Rapper and singer Aubrey Drake Graham is a Canadian.

She was born on October 24, 1986. Drake, a significant personality in modern popular music, is credited with making singing and R&B influences more common in hip-hop.

His role as Jimmy Brooks on the CTV adolescent drama Degrassi: The Next Generation (2001–2008) helped him achieve popularity.

He then decided to pursue a career in music, releasing his debut mixtape Room for Improvement in 2006. Before joining Young Money Entertainment, he released the mixtapes Comeback Season (2007) and So Far Gone (2009).

Drake was introduced to an acting agent’s father by a high school friend’s father when he was 15 years old. Drake landed a role in the Canadian adolescent drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation thanks to his agency.

Drake played Jimmy Brooks, a basketball star who was shot by a classmate and became physically crippled as a result. Drake apparently loathed this character arc because of its obvious tokenism (he was one of the series’ only black characters), and he also feared it would harm his reputation as a rapper. Longtime series writer James Hurst stated that Drake threatened to sue to rewrite the script before consenting to it. Madeleine Robinson, executive director of the non-profit organization Wheelchair 4 Kids in California, lauded the plot and Drake’s performance, stating that “he inspired confidence and representation” in disadvantaged youngsters. Drake responded when asked about his early acting career, “My mum was in critical condition. We were impoverished, almost bankrupt. My only source of income was Canadian television.” Between 2001 and 2008, he appeared in 100 episodes. Drake indicated an interest in playing Barack Obama in a biopic in 2010, to which Obama answered positively in a 2020 interview.
