Emerson Tenney Is Teri Hatcher's Only Child

Emerson's mother was married to actor and director Jon Tenney on May 27, 1994, and she was born three years later via Cesarean section on November 10, 1997, as Emerson Rose, in Los Angeles.

After she was born, her mother revealed that she knew the exact day she became pregnant: Valentine's Day. However, her parents' marriage ended after nine years, and they finalized their divorce on March 5, 2003.

When they divorced, Emerson was only five years old, and her mother tried to be a caring and hands-on mom, despite her busy schedule that included filming "Desperate Housewives."

Emerson and her mother moved from New York to California, and her grandparents living in Sunnyvale, California, also moved to Laguna, California, to be close to her Los Angeles home.

She had a happy childhood but learned about death at a young age after her dog, Bluto, died. The veterinarian had informed her mother of the dog's death, and after school, Emerson was able to say her goodbyes before she and her mom buried the dog.

Despite being the daughter of a celebrity, Emerson had a normal childhood and got to be a paparazzo once. When she was nine, her mother took her to Glamour Magazine to be a guest editor.

For the article, she needed pictures, so Teri let her take photos of the paparazzi who often hounded them when they ran errands. After her article was published, the paparazzi left them alone.

In 2015, while searching for the perfect college, Emerson helped her mother raise education funds to give back to her community and help underprivileged students.

Emerson Tenney Is a Writer

Emerson attended Brown University in 2016 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing in 2020. Despite graduating in 2020, she already has extensive working experience as she started working before university.

She started her career as a summer intern and assistant at Penguin Random House, where she read and wrote coverage for manuscripts and as a script reader for Ivy Film Festival.

Emerson also worked as a part-time freelance writer for Janis A. Donnaud & Associates, Inc, a screenplay coordinator for Brown University Motion, a production assistant for Stept Studios, and a production coordinator for Magic Lantern Pictures.

She has appeared as a voice actress in "Planes" and "Coraline." Teri's daughter has starred as The Princess in the yet-to-be-released short film "All Good."

Emerson usually writes for Spoon University. When she is not writing poetry and creative nonfiction, she loves to explore food locations around her as she loves food and keeps fit.

She is also a philanthropist who has helped raise money for Children's Hospital Los Angeles by interviewing artists as a volunteer. In addition to volunteering, she modeled for Claire's international campaign benefiting "I am That Girl."

Emerson Is Very Close to Her Parents

Despite having famous parents, Emerson does not share so much about her private life on social media, and there is no information if she is dating or who she is dating.

However, she has a warm relationship with her parents and spends time with them. Jon is proud of his daughter and often shares photos of her on his Instagram.

In 2018, Emerson trained and ran the TCS New York City Marathon with her mother, Teri Hatcher. They travel together, and in 2021, they had matching marine-themed Halloween costumes while on different coasts.
