Kenya Duke recently shed light on the circumstances behind her decision to separate from her husband, comedian Gary Owen, after 18 years together.

Kenya Duke, who shares three children with the comedian Gary Owen, explained in a now-deleted Instagram post why she felt the need to end their relationship.

The Shade Room recently obtained a screenshot of Duke's original Instagram post where the 46-year-old house flipper emphasized how Owen lied and spun stories.

It was important for Duke to remain silent out of respect for her children. However, the situation she encountered now was challenging for her to endure.

She noted that Owen, 46, spent all his energy telling lies. Duke claimed that her husband "created a false narrative," telling her that women wanted to be like her.

Apparently, Duke added that she purchased a package of five sessions with a therapist which would start on the 29th, following her husband's cheating allegations.

Apart from Owen, Duke also tagged Claudia Jordan in her message, but she did not specify why Jordan was in her post. With a hashtag, Duke indicated that it wasn't Claudia and that she is a friend.

The TSR's Instagram post drew mixed reactions from fans. Some users felt confused about Duke's statement concerning Owen and Jordan. One fan expressed:

"Someone break it down for me?"

Earlier this month, Duke reportedly filed for divorce in the Los Angeles County Supreme Court. The move surprised many because she and Owen had great chemistry together as seen in the "The Gary Owen Show."

The Cincinnati native has been in the stand-up comedy scene for a long time.

Based on Owen's 2018 self-titled podcast, the couple reflected on their wedding from 2003 and how they got through it all. They first met at a Los Angeles comedy club.

After getting married in 2003, Owen and Duke welcomed Kennedy and Austin into their family. Duke has a son named Emilio from her previous marriage.

The Cincinnati native has been in the stand-up comedy scene for a long time. Owen previously appeared in the movies "Ride Along," "Think Like A Man," and "Daddy Day Care."

After earning the title of "Funniest Serviceman in America," Owen's big break in the entertainment industry was in 1997. He became the host in the Black Entertainment Television Network show "Comic View."
